THE CAM AND TOM SYSTEM
Stimp Rating. Slope. Top 100s. None of them even come CLOSE to the Patented Cam and Tom System (Patent Pending). Designed by the average golfer for the average golfer (we're probably better than you. And have more golf knowledge. We're actually DEFINITELY better than you).
Now REMEMBER. We've got private, public, semi, par 3, mini golf, and driving ranges among whatever else we can hit a golf ball on. The par 3s are scored in regards to par 3s. The publics are scored in comparison to publics. The scores are made to compare the likes of the same breed, and for overall averages of the next three columns.
Don't be a bonehead. Just understand it already!!!

ATMOSPHERE
Ambiance. A certain... I don't know what. Some courses have it. Some courses don't. Do players stick around the 19th hole for a few hours? Does the food at the turn get you going? Are the transufsions handmade or in a can? Is there a known raccoon that eats hot dogs from the woman in the snack shack (a real thing in Connecticut).
There are just a few items that may make you understand that paying for a round of golf means that you're spending a good chunk of your day there...so let's understand if it will be a positive or negative experience alright?
This is possibly the most important item to be scaled at Divots and we do NOT take it lightly. This is where the memories are made, the good times are had, and if a course has candy dispensers in the members locker rooms for guests to tamper with. It's important.

VALUE
In season, out of season, shoulder season, who gives a s*#%? We want to know if we're overpaying, finding value, or playing a "this is a one time deal from the price so you better play well you idiot" kind of course. Golf is already an expensive game (duh), so let's make sure that we're all finding some good value out here. If a course is pricey, it better be worth it! If a course is a rock bottom rate, is it worth playing? Important considerations for the average golfer, unless this becomes a famous blog and someone rich reads it...maybe like a Willem Dafoe? If Willem Dafoe reads this we will probably deem it a success.

CONDITION
Grab your divot repairs, rakes, and throw those broken tees in the random little boxes. Is the superintendent in the shop eating donuts? Does the grounds crew trim the bunkers and given a fresh manicure to the greens? Or are these things carpets?
Of course we all want to play on beautiful courses, but that does require some capital (unless you know a guy). We want to know what conditions will be like on those well played tracks that are seeing 200+ rounds per day, or if the uber exclusive club is all that it's cracked up to be. An important characteristic here also incorporates the layout. Are the holes fun/scorable/long/repetitive? WE WANT TO KNOW.
